Job summary

Air Methods CBS is seeking an experienced Critical Care Flight Nurse to deliver lifesaving care from bedside to airborne transport in the Southwest region. You will join a high-performing clinical flight crew providing advanced care during helicopter transports while supporting ongoing education.

The role requires 3+ years of recent critical care and 1 year of flight nursing; candidates must meet regulatory licensure and safety standards. A sign-on culture and stability are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in health-related field preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years recent critical care/emergancy nursing experience within the last 5 years or as required by state/local EMS regulations.
• Pre-hospital experience preferred.
• Flight experience 1 year full-time required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care within scope of practice from initial contact to handoff to receiving facility; maintains patient care documentation.
• Maintains competency through ongoing lab and clinical experiences; reports educational needs to the Clinical Education Team.
• Maintains equipment and supplies onboard aircraft; reports equipment failures and ensures repair.
• Attends pre-mission briefings and debriefings; supports pilot and conducts safety observations as needed.
• Assists neonatal/pediatric transports; performs advanced skills as approved by Medical Directors.
• Participates in patient follow-up and outreach, and in program goals and education activities.
• Acts as preceptor or mentor for new employees and students; participates in meetings and committees.
