Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the SICU at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. The role supports RN staff with daily patient care, including positioning, feeding, and mobility, while documenting vitals and data in the EMR. The position requires GED or HS diploma, Basic Life Support within 45 days, and Nurse Aide certification.

Great teamwork and communication are essential in this 36-hour-week, 36 per week, 60? shift.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required or equivalent.
• Basic nursing assistant duties and patient care experience preferred.
• Must have or obtain BLS within 45 days; Nurse Aide on State Registry as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, mobility, and transfers.
• Document vitals, intake/output, weights, and patient data in EMR accurately.
• Support admission, transfer, and discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Ensure patient call lights are within reach and respond promptly.
• Maintain clean, stocked nursing area and proper equipment handling.
