Job summary

Advocate Health in Chicago is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to support registered nurses with daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and mobility. You will assist with routine tasks, document observations, and help with admissions and discharges under supervision.

The role requires basic computer skills, clear communication, strong organization, and adherence to infection prevention policies.

Qualifications

BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days.
Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry.

Responsibilities

Assist RN with daily patient care (bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, mobility).
Measure and document vital signs and intake/output in EMR.
Perform purposeful rounding and communicate observations to RN.
Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges and room setup.
Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
Run errands and stock nursing area; clean equipment and work areas.
Position patients and assist with transfers using proper technique and equipment.
Maintain skin integrity and ensure provision of special supplies (e.g., TED hose).
Follow infection prevention policies and demonstrate age-appropriate care.
