Osceola County Sheriff's Office - Sheriff Christopher A. Blackmon is seeking a Communications Operator (911 Operator/Dispatcher) in Kissimmee, FL. You will answer, process, prioritize, and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD, relaying instructions and entering data accurately.

The role requires handling high-stress situations, typing 40 WPM, and completing exams. Eligible candidates should be willing to a 3-year commitment and work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Type 40 WPM with 90% accuracy.
• Must pass required exams and evaluations.
• Commitment to a 3-year term in Communications.

Responsibilities

• Answer, process, prioritize, and dispatch incoming calls for service.
• Relay instructions and provide pertinent information to field personnel.
• Enter data into the CAD system accurately.
• Coordinate with Deputies, Firefighters, and EMTs as needed.
• Maintain composure and perform under high-stress conditions.
