Job summary

The Ion Center for Violence Prevention in Covington, KY is hiring a Crisis Intervention Specialist (Non-Residential) to provide crisis intervention and case management for primary and secondary survivors of crime, with emphasis on partner and sexual violence, and stalking. You will support safety planning, resource linkage, and advocacy in a compassionate, trauma-informed approach.

Responsibilities

• Intake and assessment: maintain confidentiality, field crisis hotline calls/texts/chat, assess needs, connect to resources, assist with paperwork, help develop safety plans.
• Counseling and case management: provide trauma-informed individual/family or group counseling, educate on violence-related topics, identify goals related to benefits, childcare, education, budget, housing; transport to meetings.
• Advocacy: support clients navigating legal system, accompany to court, assist with protection orders; collaborate with partners, law enforcement, medical staff, and social services; assist with victim compensation.
• Communication, teamwork, and administration: maintain files, attend trainings, report stats, disseminate donations, contribute to trauma-informed environment, collaborate across sites.
• Other duties: standard duties may change; maintain confidentiality and adapt as needed.

Crisis Intervention Specialists play a key role in the services we provide through case management and goal setting, leading group sessions, court accompaniment, answering hotline calls, and addressing other needs as they arise. JOB SUMMARY : Under the supervision of the Site and Program Management, provides full range of crisis intervention and case management services to primary and secondary survivors of crime, with a special focus on victims of partner violence, sexual violence, and stalking, assisting victims to work towards safety and self-sufficiency.

Intake and Assessment.

1.1 Maintain client confidentiality

1.2 Field crisis hotline calls, texts, and chat.

1.3 Assess and identify client needs.

1.4 Provide and connect clients with community resources.

1.5 Assist clients with completing agency paperwork.

1.6 Aide clients in developing safety plans.

Counseling and Case Management

2.1 Provide trauma informed individual/ family and or group counseling.

2.2 Educate survivors on topics relevant to partner violence, sexual violence, and stalking.

2.3 Identifying client individual goals relevant to benefits, childcare, education, budget, and housing needs.

2.4 Transport clients to meet goals.

Advocacy

3.1 Provide support for clients as they navigate the legal system, including accompanying clients to court, educate on legal system, assisting clients on filing protection orders.

3.2 Support Ion Center in providing essential services to victims, hotline, and emergency shelter.

3.3 Collaborate with community partners, law enforcement, medical staff, and social service agencies.

3.4 Assist clients with crime victim compensation.

Communication, Teamwork, and Administration Duties

4.1 Maintain client files and documentation.

4.2 Attend related meetings and trainings.

4.3 Report stats for funders.

4.4 Accept and disseminate donations.

4.5 Contribute to a clean, healthy, and trauma informed work environment.

4.6 Collaborate as a team across agency sites.
