Job summary

CMHA-CEI in Lansing, MI seeks a Mental Health Worker to provide support during acute crises. You will assist clinicians, engage with adults with mental health, substance use, or developmental disabilities, and ensure a safe environment aligned with treatment plans.

Required are a high school diploma/GED and at least 1 year of crisis experience; valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation are essential. Pre-employment checks may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with mental health crisis.
• Ability to de-escalate crises and provide intervention.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a supportive atmosphere for consumers in acute mental health crisis.
• Assist therapist and nurse; interact with consumers in crisis due to MH, SUD, or DD.
• Carry out direct interventions per treatment plans and maintain a secure environment.
• Perform program/sub-unit activities in alignment with CMHA-CEI policies.
