KENOSHA HUMAN DEVELOPMENT SERVICES, INC. is seeking a Crisis Counselor at the Crisis Prevention Center in Kenosha, WI. The role provides walk-in, telephone and mobile crisis interventions and connects clients with community resources.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, strong communication skills, English proficiency, and willingness to learn treatment philosophies. In-person role; 40 hours per week; pay range $21.20 to $23.32 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to observe, interpret, assess and document human behaviors.
• Ability to work at an active pace for a full shift.
• Must complete minimum 40 hours of training upon hire.
• Proficient in English; bilingual Spanish a plus.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with good driving record; own auto insurance.
• Ability to maintain records and document case notes daily.
• Ability to give and receive feedback within a team.
• Must be willing to learn and align with treatment philosophies.

Responsibilities

• Crisis intervention for Kenosha County and coordination of on-site or phone responses.
• Refer or authorize county-funded services as appropriate.
• Assess and assist with emergency psychiatric inpatient hospital authorization when needed.
• Refer to crisis stabilization centers and facilitate transportation as required.
• Respond to law enforcement and assist victims with safety planning and referrals.
• Complete required documentation and maintain records for state certification.
