Job summary

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Pittsburgh is seeking a compassionate Caseworker to join our Allegheny Outreach Team, helping individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. You will provide case management, assess service needs, and connect clients with essential resources in a supportive, collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes listening, careful planning, and helping clients meet practical goals.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a human services field is required.
• A minimum of one year of social service experience is required. Internship experience is acceptable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
• Excellent documentation skills are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required.
• Act 33/34 and FBI clearances are required.

Responsibilities

• Provides case management and service planning to assist clients in setting achievable objectives.
• Assesses requests for service to determine applicant eligibility.
• Provides ongoing casework and supportive services to assigned clients.
• Provides or arranges for needed supportive services to fulfill service plan objectives.
• Documents all interactions with clients, service coordination information, and goal planning activities in a timely, comprehensive, and accurate manner to ensure compliance with program standards.
• Develops new approaches to better serve the needs of clients.
• Ensures that clients achieve their service plan objectives.
• Provides information and referral services for other community services in order to link clients with appropriate resources.
