Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a Crew Leader for the Highway Maintenance team. You will lead a skilled crew performing road and right-of-way maintenance and concrete repairs.

You will supervise drainage projects, set up traffic controls per MUTCD and SCDOT standards, and maintain reports. A valid driver's license is required, with the CDL due within six months of placement. Occasional emergencies and adverse weather may require extended hours.

Qualifications

• Two years of related work experience or equivalent.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• Must obtain Class A CDL within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew of Highway Maintenance Workers on road and right-of-way maintenance tasks.
• Supervise drainage and concrete repair projects as assigned.
• Set up traffic control per MUTCD and SCDOT standards to warn motorists.
• Maintain weekly and monthly reports and time sheets.
• Coordinate snow and ice removal and inclement weather response.
