Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts seeks a Foreperson/Bucket Operator to coordinate crew members, equipment, tools, and supplies ensuring contract specifications are met. The role requires directing daily tasks, supervising crew performance, and maintaining safety protocols on outdoor work sites in the Lynchburg area.

Ideal candidates have prior experience in vegetation management or related fields, a valid driver's license, and ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet and demonstrate qualifications of all positions on a crew.
• Must be able to follow verbal or written directives.
• Must be able to delegate work and take accountability for the performance of a crew.
• Must have and maintain a Driver’s License and be able to safely drive a company vehicle.
• Must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct crew members and manage equipment each day.
• Assign tasks to crew members and supervise performance.
• Plan and execute the assigned work in a safe and professional manner.
• Organize job assignments for efficient completion.
• Notify property owners and obtain access where required.
• Ensure crew members wear PPE and follow safety practices.
• Trim/remove trees using ladders, chippers, or ground work as appropriate.
• Spray stumps/brush to prevent further growth.
• Load/unload trucks with debris and feed brush into chippers.
• Inspect work per specs and inform the customer upon completion.
• Keep records of time, equipment, and materials used.
• Perform daily truck inspections and job briefings as required by law.
• Restock supplies and coordinate maintenance with the supervisor.
• Determine actions in emergencies to protect life and property.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
