Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Foreperson to coordinate and oversee a vegetation management crew, ensuring job setups meet contract specifications and OSHA requirements. You will manage the aerial truck operations, roping techniques, and knot tying fundamentals in a field-based setting.

The role requires leading daily tasks, ensuring safe equipment usage, and maintaining strong customer relations while meeting project timelines. A valid driver's license and prior field experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in Vegetation Management.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• Meets and demonstrates qualifications of all positions on a crew.
• Delegates work and take accountability for the performance of a crew.
• Ability to read and understand contract requirements.
• Knowledge of botanical and common names of trees and plants.
• Experience in safe operations and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Able to adjust to field requirements and take independent action without close supervision.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Direct crew members and manage equipment each day.
• Plans, assigns, and executes specific tasks in a safe and professional manner to crew and supervise performance.
• Performs daily reporting using AMS system to submit timesheets and billing information.
• Notify property owners of presence on property; obtain permission to trim or remove trees and/or apply herbicides; discuss access and power interruption with customer.
• Oversee equipment and material usage and cleanup; ensure equipment and supplies are secured on the truck.
• Keep accurate records of time, equipment, and material used.
• Maintain above standard customer relations.
