Job summary

Lake Trust Credit Union is seeking a Credit Solutions Specialist to review past due consumer accounts and determine delinquency levels, handling related legal, bankruptcy, repossession and charge-off activities while protecting the credit union’s interests.

The role involves communicating with members, educating them on financial responsibility, and maintaining positive interactions that reflect the credit union’s brand.

Qualifications

• High School diploma (GED) required.
• 0–2 years of collection experience preferred or 5-years financial experience preferred.
• Certified in financial counseling preferred.
• Proven ability to support a strong member/customer service culture.
• Knowledgeable of all federal and state regulations and statutes (FCRA, FDCPA, SCRA, Reg. Z, Reg. P, statutes of limitations, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Makes a high volume of telephone calls to members regarding delinquent accounts.
• Contact members by phone or mail to determine past due reasons and obtain promises to pay.
• Issue collection letters where appropriate.
• Follow up with members who have not met repayment terms.
