Job summary

Viking Forest Products in Minnesota is seeking an experienced Credit and Collections Specialist to join our accounting team. You will assess customer credit, manage accounts receivable and collections, and collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure timely order processing.

In this role you will evaluate creditworthiness, establish limits, review contracts and lien waivers, and coordinate collections efforts with service officers and traders.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts receivable, credit and collections, or a related accounting function.
• Knowledge of credit analysis, credit limits, and customer account management.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with construction contracts or lien waivers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer creditworthiness, establish credit limits, and review orders for credit risk.
• Process new customer credit applications and maintain accurate account records.
• Coordinate collections efforts with customers, service officers, and commodities traders.
• Resolve account discrepancies, outstanding balances, and credit-related questions.
• Review contracts, lien waivers, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
