Job summary

Vaco is seeking a Credit & Collections Associate for our client in Clearwater, FL. The role handles inbound and outbound collection calls, helping customers resolve credit and invoice issues, with excellent customer service on every interaction. The position starts in the phone queue and, once ramped up, you’ll take on your own portfolio of accounts.

On-site schedule is ~8am-5pm. This is a 6-month Contract to Hire with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• ~ 2 years of Accounts Receivable or collections experience, ideally B2B (will also consider Customer Service).
• Strong customer service and phone skills, and comfort spending most of the day on calls with clients.
• Basic Excel and MS Office proficiency.
• Oracle or SAP experience is a plus.
• A sense of urgency, strong communication skills, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• HS diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls for payments and credit questions, and make outbound calls on delinquent accounts.
• Help customers resolve invoice discrepancies before their payments are processed.
• Work declined and expired credit cards every day.
• Review orders in the credit hold queue, follow credit guidelines and next steps.
• Respond to customer emails, and collaborate with the team to resolve disputes.
• In the first months, meet monthly with Customer Service to fix misrouted calls.
• Once established, manage your own portfolio of collections accounts.
