Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture seeks an experienced credit and accounts receivable supervisor in Alabama to oversee credit approvals, collection activities, and related bookkeeping tasks. You will manage staff, review applications, and ensure adherence to procedures to minimize losses while supporting store performance.

A high school diploma or GED and 3 years in accounting, bookkeeping, loan processing, or collections are required; valid driver's license preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; three years in accounting/bookkeeping, loan processing, and/or collections; or equivalent training/experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Oversees accounts receivable and collection activities, ensuring policies are followed.
• Reviews applications, verifies financial status, and approves or declines credit with documented rationale.
• Contacts delinquent customers by phone/text to collect payments and documents all interactions.
• Manages staff performance, assigns workload, and provides guidance for efficient credit operations.
• Prepares paperwork for legal action when necessary and coordinates with attorneys or agencies.
• Maintains organized, secure customer files and ensures proper bookkeeping and reporting.
