Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture is seeking a Credit Manager to oversee accounts receivable, collections, and credit approvals. You will supervise staff, review credit applications, and enforce delinquency procedures while protecting store assets.

This position requires strong accounting basics, attention to detail, and a drive to reduce losses while growing receivables. You will manage documentation, coordinate with collections, and ensure compliance with company procedures and internal controls.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; three (3) years experience in accounting/bookkeeping, loan processing, and/or collections; or any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Manages accounts receivable and collection areas and directs staff to maintain efficient operations.
• Reviews and evaluates credit applications; investigates financial status and determines approval/limits.
• Contacts customers by phone or text to collect overdue payments and enforces terms.
• Ensures documentation of all correspondence and actions taken on accounts.
• Prepares paperwork for potential legal action and coordinates with attorneys or agency collections.
• Maintains filing systems and daily bookkeeping work, ensuring secure handling of sensitive data.
