Job summary

Freedom Credit Union in Springfield, MA is seeking a Credit Analyst for Member Business Loans. Under supervision, you will perform financial analysis, prepare written assessments, review collateral, and support portfolio tracking.

You will work closely with the Commercial Credit Manager to ensure risk rating accuracy and adherence to policy standards, with occasional outside-hours work as needed.

Qualifications

• BS degree in business or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of accounting principles.
• Knowledge of business and personal financial statements.
• Strong analytical and underwriting skills.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in financial analysis software.
• May require outside-hours work to respond to position issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough financial, cash flow, ratio and trend analysis on each Member Business Loan.
• Prepare written presentations with assessment of strengths/weaknesses per policy standards.
• Determine collateral adequacy considering asset availability and appraisals.
• Make recommendations to the Commercial Credit Manager on viability and risk.
• Perform annual portfolio reviews based on updated financials and covenants.
• Spread financial statements.
• Assist with portfolio tracking systems.
