Job summary

First Commonwealth Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Credit Analyst to evaluate loan requests by analyzing financial statements and credit data. You will prepare organized reports on borrowers’ creditworthiness to inform lending decisions and monitor existing relationships for ongoing risk.

In this role you will support the credit culture through reporting on portfolio quality, policy adherence, and process improvements, collaborating with loan officers and management to ensure sound credit

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years' experience as an Associate Credit Analyst or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of commercial lending, loan review regulations, and banking procedures.
• Advanced ability to analyze financial statement data and draw conclusions.
• Strong communication across bank platforms, including peers and management.
• Familiarity with accounting/financial techniques and financial modeling incl. DCF.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and banking software.
• Excellent reading, writing, and numerical skills; strong analytical ability.
• Ability to multitask under deadlines with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks for the credit analysis process.
• Conducts credit investigations and analyzes credit information pertaining to loans.
• Breaks down balance sheets and income statements and compares current results to prior periods.
• Prepares reports summarizing borrower creditworthiness for loan committees.
• Prepares projections of income, expenses and net worth for the credit report.
• Values collateral, reviews appraisals, and assesses collateral coverage.
• Assigns risk ratings and monitors portfolio for updated financial data.
• Assists loan officers in gathering information for borrower analysis.
• Prepares reports on problem assets for the Criticized Asset Committee.
• Participates in projects to support the Credit Administration function.
• Ensures credit analysis activities comply with lending policy and SLAs.
