Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group is seeking a Medical Staff Services Coordinator to support credentialing and privileging for multiple MercyOne hospitals. The role ensures regulatory and accreditation standards are met, maintaining a high level of accuracy in provider data and documentation.

You will coordinate education, collect appropriate documentation, and collaborate with hospital leadership to facilitate credential reviews and approvals across the health system.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in a medical staff services or credentialing role.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates medical staff services functions for an assigned group of MercyOne hospitals and affiliated facilities.
• Ensures credentialing and privileging compliance with regulations and bylaws (Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS, state and federal).
• Maintains the credentialing database with accurate provider information.
• Collects appropriate privileging documentation for requested privileges.
• Facilitates and documents required education for the requested privileges (e.g., sedation testing).
• Prepares files and routes them to clinical leaders for credentials review and approval.
