Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a credentialing specialist to manage physician and ancillary staff credentialing and privileging, ensuring compliance with bylaws and state/federal requirements. The role supports accreditation surveys, maintains sensitive records, and coordinates with departments and outside agencies.

The position emphasizes confidentiality, effective communication, and accurate reporting to support quality of care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or Bachelors degree preferred.
• Three Years Of Previous Medical Staff Services/credentialing Experience Preferred.
• CPMSM and/or CPCS certification preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; meeting management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate credentialing and privileging of physicians and ancillary staff.
• Maintain credentialing software database with provider information.
• Protect confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Communicate with outside agencies to obtain or share credentialing information.
• Prepare and support Joint Commission and state license surveys.
• Maintain confidential filing system for provider files.
• Provide department telephone coverage and respond to information requests.
