Job summary

Michaels is seeking an Event Coordination professional to plan and execute multiple events at our Harvey, LA location, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes. You will engage clients of all ages, demonstrate projects, and help with face painting and event add-ons.

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, with a focus on customer satisfaction. The role involves coordinating with store teams, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring safety and cleanliness

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with children and children's events.
• Must have excellent people skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects; perform face painting and other activities.
• Assist with add-ons such as goody bags and balloons; ensure adherence to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; complete administrative tasks as needed.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback; create backup or emergency plans as required.
• Ensure client satisfaction; uphold cleanliness and safety standards; set up and clean after events.
