Job summary

Michaels in Stamford, CT seeks an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and run in-store events, including children’s parties, while delivering friendly customer service and helping guests shop. You’ll handle coordination, checkouts, and store operations to ensure a fun, safe experience for all guests.

The role includes cross-training in framing-related tasks and supporting omni-channel processes, with emphasis on guest satisfaction, safety, and teamwork in a busy retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
• Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions.
• Provide fast and friendly check out experience.
• Enrol rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
• Educate customer on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
• Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
• Participate in the truck un-load, stocking and planogram (POGs) processes.
• Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
• Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
• Support shrink and safety programs.
• Adhere to SOPs and company policies.
• Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner; remain positive and respectful; promote the organization’s vision and values.
• Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
• Participate in daily store cleanliness activities including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms
