Job summary

The Michaels Companies, Inc. is seeking an Events Coordinator for our Oxford Valley, PA store. The role plans and coordinates events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes, ensuring a stress-free, fun guest experience.

You will deliver friendly customer service, assist shoppers, manage checkouts, and coordinate event communications with the store team. Flexibility for setup, breakdown, and safety standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality with strong people skills.
• Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests of all ages.
• Excellent written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
• Experience working with children and children’s events is preferred.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with creative problem-solving.
• Retail and/or customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at the Michaels store, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects; perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate event add-ons (goody bags, balloons) to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team; manage emails and phone calls.
• Handle administrative tasks and adjust plans based on client feedback; create backup plans as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction and uphold cleanliness and safety standards; oversee setup, activity, and breakdown.
• Cross-train in Custom Framing selling and production and participate in daily store cleanliness activities.
