Job summary

Michaels is seeking an events-oriented team member for the Richmond Short Pump, VA store. You will plan and coordinate multiple events, including children’s birthday parties, while delivering friendly customer service and assisting shoppers in finding products.

You will also support checkout, BOPIS/SFS processes, and store operations, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and adherence to SOPs. Prior experience with children’s events and strong communication are valued.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages, creating a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in crafts; perform face painting and activities.
• Coordinate add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per company standards and communicate with clients and team.
• Assist customers in shopping, locating products, and providing solutions; ensure fast, friendly checkout.
• Handle emails, calls, and paperwork; support omni-channel processes (BOPIS/SFS) and store operations.
• Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and program compliance; support shrink and safety initiatives.
