Job summary

The Michaels Companies is seeking a Part-Time Party & Event Host in Winchester, VA to plan, coordinate, and deliver memorable in-store events including kids’ birthday parties and crafts classes. You’ll engage guests of all ages, guide activities, and ensure a warm, fun shopping experience.

Responsibilities include coordinating events, handling customer service, setting up and breaking down spaces, and performing administrative tasks while maintaining safety and cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

• Must have great people skills and enjoy working with guests of all ages.
• Experience working with children and planning kids' events is preferred.
• Retail or customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including kids’ parties and craft classes.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects; face painting and activities as needed.
• Facilitate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) to company standards.
• Support customers by helping them shop, enroll in rewards, and complete inquiries.
• Coordinate event communications with clients and store team; perform admin tasks.
• Set up, run, and break down events; ensure safety and store cleanliness.
