Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Durham, NC is seeking a part-time Retail Party and Events Host to plan and coordinate in-store events, including children’s birthday parties, within a friendly, family-friendly environment.

You will engage guests of all ages, provide hands-on guidance for crafts, and help shoppers with product selections while supporting fast, friendly checkout experiences and store standards.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality required.
• Excellent people skills and communication abilities essential.
• Experience working with children and children’s events preferred.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple in-store events, including children’s parties and crafts.
• Engage customers of all ages and demonstrate activities during events.
• Provide friendly checkout experience and assist with product recommendations.
• Communicate events with clients and store team; handle emails/phone calls as needed.
• Set up and clean up before/after events; ensure safety and cleanliness standards.
