Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking an in‑store events coordinator at our Odessa, TX location to plan and execute kids’ birthday parties and other craft events. You will deliver friendly customer service, help guests shop, and ensure fast checkout while supporting store operations and safety standards.

You will engage customers of all ages, teach crafts, and coordinate event add‑ons, communications, and paperwork with the store team. Previous retail or party‑planning experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience required.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Must have organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Assist with Omni channel processes (BOPIS/SFS) and in‑store shopping support.
