Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Irving, TX is seeking an Events Coordinator to plan and coordinate in-store events, including children's birthday parties, crafts classes, and other activities. You will engage with clients of all ages to deliver a fun, creative, and stress-free experience while guiding participants through project activities.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have excellent people skills and be able to engage guests of all ages.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and nonverbal) and ability to listen.
• Solid organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple events.
• Creative problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects and related activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; perform administrative tasks (emails, calls, paperwork).
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs; create backup or emergency plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events; maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
• Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event; support store operations as needed.
