Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills, including intermediate piping techniques and decorative flowers/borders.
• Understand color theory for buttercream blending and palette coordination.
• Ability to apply icing techniques for multiple frosting types.
• Strong time management and organization skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures, track production and spoilage.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products attractively and monitor freshness and rotation.
• Provide guidance to Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other team members.
• Create custom order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment; follow safety standards.
• Perform opening, middle, and closing duties with accurate signage and pricing.
