Whole Foods Market in Portsmouth, NH seeks a Bakery Decorator to craft and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special orders with artistry and care. You’ll ensure quality, maintain safety standards, and deliver outstanding service to customers.

You will train and guide Bakery Decorator Apprentices, manage decorating tasks, and help maintain clean, organized work areas while supporting store programs and compliance with food safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills with piping techniques.
• Ability to follow recipes and time management.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Basic math for recipe conversions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures to meet business demand.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and showcase products in the display case and ensure freshness and proper rotation.
• Provide guidance and support for Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other team members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist with phones and pages promptly.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment and follow safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties with accurate signage and pricing.
