Job summary

Whole Foods Market IP. L.P. is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special orders.

You will apply artistic skills to finish goods while maintaining quality and adhering to safety standards. Expect to support store programs and provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced bakery environment. You will lead decorating projects, assist apprentices, and ensure proper production planning, labeling, and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in a professional bakery or grocery retail is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in display cases and monitor freshness and rotation.
• Provide guidance and support for Apprentices and team members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle phones and pages promptly.
• Maintain clean, sanitary work area and adhere to safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties including signage and pricing.
