Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Bedford, NH is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items. You will use artistic skills to ensure quality and visual appeal while following food safety standards.

Responsibilities include decorating, production planning, and assisting apprentices, with emphasis on customer service and teamwork in a fast-paced bakery environment. A flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, may be required.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a professional bakery or grocery retail preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures and record production data.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in display cases and monitor freshness and rotation.
• Provide guidance for Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
• Create special order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and support sales staff.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area and comply with safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties and ensure accurate signage/pricing.
