Job summary

YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking an Enrichment Instructor specializing in Creative Arts to join our team for the afterschool Expanded Learning Opportunity (ELO) program in Tacoma, WA. The role focuses on delivering creative arts instruction to elementary participants, with responsibilities including lesson planning, safety, and SEL curriculum.

Part-time position up to 25 hours/week. Compensation ranges from $18.03 to $18.67 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 or older.
• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Must pass Background and Reference checks.
• Willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans with progression appropriate to age/ability of students.
• Complete program training with site staff.
• Instruct programming based on skillset and supervision.
• Plan, lead, and assist group activities.
• Enforce safety rules and SEL curriculum.
• Maintain equipment and supplies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Keep attendance and progress records; communicate with parents and supervisor.
