Job summary

The Seattle YMCA is hiring part‑time, onsite Lead Instructors for BASE programs in Edmonds, WA. You’ll guide elementary participants through sports, arts, STEM, and hands‑on learning, supporting the supervisor and promoting teamwork and social emotional growth.

Role includes mid‑day Play Everyday support 2–4 days per week, with shifts 6:45am to after school. Benefits include YMCA membership, insurance, retirement, PTO, and childcare program discounts.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• 2+ years experience with children (camp, child care, tutoring, nannying).
• Completion of minimum STARS training and CPR/First Aid certification.
• Background check and TB tests completed prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Supervise children to ensure safety and positive experiences.
• Provide guidance to staff/volunteers and communicate with parents.
• Follow YMCA policies, maintain site appearance, and assist with check-in/out.
• Support school-based Play Everyday Program and attend required trainings.
