Job summary

Mazzella Companies is seeking a detail-oriented Service Estimator to handle crane inspection repair quoting and customer engagement. You will analyze technical inspection reports, consult with customers on findings, and collaborate with the service team to establish repair scopes and profitable estimates.

The role emphasizes strong technical aptitude, consultative sales, and the ability to manage a quote pipeline, secure approvals, and present proposals to customers.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in technical estimating, service quoting, parts sales, or related industrial/mechanical role.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical inspection reports and equipment documentation.
• Strong consultative communication, with confidence presenting technical solutions to clients.
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills with precise labor/material calculations.
• Excellent organizational habits to manage multiple quotes in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; hands-on NetSuite CRM/ERP experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED; trade/military crane training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Analyze crane inspection reports, field notes, and safety docs to evaluate repair requirements and identify labor, parts, and equipment.
• Consult with customers to review findings, explain recommendations, and define repair scopes with the service team.
• Develop accurate, competitive and profitable repair estimates aligned to pricing guidelines and customer needs.
• Deliver and present proposals to customer decision-makers, outlining scope and options clearly.
• Follow up on outstanding estimates to address concerns and secure approvals.
• Maintain active quote pipeline in NetSuite with updated communication and deal statuses.
• Collaborate with Service Specialists and branches on complex opportunities needing strategy.
• Assist field technicians and branch personnel with component identification and repair estimation.
