Job summary

Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to oversee Technicians and service staff, ensuring customer satisfaction while protecting profitability and budgets. The role partners with the Service Manager and Safety Director to maintain a safe work environment.

Responsibilities include field service coordination, scheduling, parts lookup, timesheet approvals, and documentation for service projects. On-call duties nights/weekends are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as crane mechanic
• 1–2 years supervisory experience
• Demonstrated diagnostic/repair skills on crane systems (engines, hydraulics, transmissions)
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
• Proficient with MS Office and mobile devices
• Ability to train employees and enforce procedures
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Field calls regarding service on equipment on job sites
• Schedules technicians for service calls in the field
• Order parts for field service repairs
• Proofread and approve all timesheets for field service technicians
• Schedule all planned maintenance for lube and field service technicians
• Ensure all service documents are complete and accurate
• Provide service billing with costs and documents for invoicing
• On-call nights and weekends as required
• Ensure service docs are uploaded by Service Admin
• Provide customers with service/ inspection documentation
• Issue and complete Work Orders for repairs in shop and field
