Job summary

Michaels is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan and execute in-store events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes. You will engage customers, guide activities, and ensure a friendly checkout and shopping experience while coordinating with the store team.

The role involves running event logistics, upselling add-ons, and maintaining safety and cleanliness throughout the shift. Prior retail/customer service and comfort with children’s events are ideal.

• Retail or customer service experience is required.
• Experience working with children and children’s events is preferred.
• Excellent people skills and strong communication are essential.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving abilities are expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct party activities, including face painting.
• Coordinate add-ons like goody bags and balloons per company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; manage schedules.
• Handle emails, calls, and paperwork; maintain event documentation.
• Ensure plan changes reflect client feedback and maintain safety standards.
• Assist with store cleanliness and safety; set up and break down events.
