Job summary

Michaels is seeking an Events Coordinator to plan and run in-store events, including kids birthday parties and craft classes. You will engage customers of all ages, assist shoppers, enroll them in Rewards and Private Label Credit Cards, and ensure a fast, friendly checkout.

• Experience in planning and executing events, preferably in retail or family-focused environments.
• Excellent people skills with ability to engage diverse age groups.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to coordinate with teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects; perform face painting and activities.
• Coordinate event add-ons like goody bags and balloons per company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; answer emails and phone calls as needed.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback; prepare backup or emergency plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction and maintain cleanliness and safety standards during setup and teardown.
