Job summary

Rock County is hiring a professional level Social Worker/Case Manager for the CPS Division to ensure child safety, protection, and permanency. The role crosses-trains across CPS units and works as part of a multi-disciplinary team within Rock County Human Services.

The position supports the department's mission and relies on knowledge of Wisconsin CPS standards, family engagement, and resource referrals to families in need.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field from accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience working with adults and children with disabilities preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to screened-in CPS reports and conduct initial assessments to ensure child safety.
• Identify families needing court-ordered protection and prepare CHIPS petitions.
• Perform CPS Access tasks: receive, analyze, and document maltreatment reports.
• Attend supervisory conferences, trainings, and department meetings.
• Mentor and support staff and interns; provide coverage for CPS units as needed.
