Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work and ability to be certified as a social worker in Wisconsin within 6 months.
• Priority to candidates with experience in child welfare, youth justice or mental health.
• Non-social work degrees must pursue an accredited social work certificate within 3 years and become certified in Wisconsin within 6 months after completion.

Responsibilities

• Conduct CPS Initial Assessment and maltreatment investigations per Chapter 48.
• Perform intake duties (Access) and juvenile intake to meet statutory requirements.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, community providers, and families to assess safety and decide on required actions.
• Prepare court documents if protective actions or custody are needed.
• Respond to outreach and assist in transportation and court hearings as required.
