Job summary

The Columbia County Department of Health & Human Services is seeking a Child Protective Services Initial Assessment Social Worker to perform investigations of child abuse and neglect and to assess and ensure the safety of children.

You will engage with families and community agencies to identify strengths and needs and to coordinate services that promote safety, permanency, and family self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related Human Service field; certified or eligible to obtain Social Worker certification.
• Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations of child abuse and neglect and assess safety of children.
• Engage with families and community agencies to identify strengths and needs to implement services.
