Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) seeks Conservatorship Supervisors I/II to lead a CPS unit focused on child safety, permanency, and well‑being. Supervisors guide caseworkers and clerical staff, ensuring timely services and current service plans for children and families.

You’ll work with judges, attorneys, and community partners in a fast‑paced environment. The role requires initiative, strong assessment and decision‑making skills, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Conservatorship knowledge and experience required.
• Knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 40% and be on call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plans and manages unit operations to meet service delivery goals.
• Selects, mentors and evaluates staff through field visits and reviews.
• Interprets program policy to staff, families, courts and the public.
• Evaluates unit performance to ensure compliance with policy and service standards.
• Maintains relationships with community resources and partners.
• Makes casework decisions on removal/placement of children; coordinates with attorneys.
• Travels and participates in visits and meetings after 5pm when required.
