Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, at least three years as a certified law enforcement officer or military equivalent, and a valid driver’s license with a clean five-year record.

English reading, writing, and speaking skills are essential, along with the ability to pass background, drug, and medical checks.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform entrance control and screenings to detect weapons and prohibited items.
• Roaming patrol of court facilities and grounds.
• Guard stationary posts including CCTV, duress alarms, and court areas.
• Provide armed escort duties for judges, court personnel, or others as directed.
• Direct traffic and control access at court facility properties.
• Enforce federal law and detain unauthorized persons as needed.
• Prepare reports on labor hours, incidents, or security issues.
• Secure unattended courtrooms and test security devices prior to proceedings.
• Maintain courtroom order and enforce court rules during proceedings.
