Job summary

The State of Maine Judicial Branch is hiring a Deputy Judicial Marshal in Bangor. This role provides safety and security for judges, court staff, and the public with a full-time schedule designed for work-life balance.

The position requires high school completion or GED and certification readiness through the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Pre-Service Training. Applicants must be able to pass a polygraph and fingerprinting, interact well with diverse stakeholders, and maintain strict adherence

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Maine Criminal Justice Academy Pre-Service Training required or sponsorable.
• Eligible for Judicial Marshal certification within 12 months.
• Ability to pass polygraph and national fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Judicial Marshal for court security at daily sessions.
• Enforce Maine laws inside courthouses and monitor surveillance.
• Assist with courtroom workflow and handling of paperwork and evidence.
• Maintain security presence in public areas of court facilities.
• Direct visitors to locations and provide schedule information.
• Participate in mandatory law enforcement training and firearms qualifications.
