Job summary

The State of Maine Judicial Branch is seeking qualified law enforcement officers to join the Deputy Judicial Marshal team at the Waldo Judicial Center in Belfast. The role focuses on providing a safe and secure court environment for judges, staff, participants, and the public while maintaining a balanced full-time schedule.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and complete the Maine CJAC Pre-Service Training, or be sponsored for completion.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Completion of Maine CJAC Pre-Service Law Enforcement Training required or sponsorable.
• Ability to interact effectively with judges, staff, attorneys, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Judicial Marshal for court security and procedures.
• Maintain alert posture and monitor security risks during court sessions.
• Enforce Maine law within the courthouse and conduct necessary arrests.
• Observe entrants and movements within court facilities and assist with paperwork flow.
• Move evidence as requested and support courtroom operations.
• Ensure safety and respond to emergencies as needed.
