Job summary

The State of Maine Judicial Branch seeks certified law enforcement officers and qualified candidates to join the Office of Judicial Marshals as Deputy Judicial Marshals in Bangor. This full-time role focuses on providing a safe, secure court environment for judges, staff, participants, and the public while supporting work-life balance.

You will complete Maine CJ Academy Pre-Service training, maintain firearms qualifications, and work within a dedicated team across Maine’s court system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Successful completion of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Pre-Service Training.
• Ability to pass polygraph examination and national fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Judicial Marshal for court security and proceedings.
• Enforce Maine laws within the courthouse and monitor entry screening areas.
• Assist with courtroom operations and movement of paperwork and evidence.
• Maintain annual law enforcement training and firearms qualifications.
