Job summary

Massachusetts Department of Public Health is seeking a custodial professional to maintain clean and accessible court facilities within the Facilities Management division. You will clean offices, bathrooms, and common areas, assist with maintenance, and ensure overall facility readiness.

This full-time position operates 3:00 pm–11:00 pm with a possible $1.00/hour shift differential and includes occasional travel between regional courts. Union designation under OPEIU Local 6 applies.

Qualifications

• No degree requirement.
• Three (3) years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and supplies.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

• Dust and mop floors, vacuum carpets, and place wet floor signs.
• Strip and apply wax; operate floor buffers to polish surfaces.
• Clean furniture, windows, walls, and restrooms; replenish supplies.
• Move furniture as needed; assist in building maintenance tasks.
• Mow lawns, shovel snow, and provide coverage for others as needed.
• Follow safety guidelines and report maintenance needs.
