Northeastern Supply is seeking a Counter Sales Associate for our Georgetown, DE branch. This full-time position supports walk-in and telephone customers, helping with product selection and order fulfillment while leveraging product knowledge to build lasting relationships.

The role emphasizes customer service, upselling, and inventory stewardship in a fast-paced retail environment. Candidates should have a High School or GED and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.; company benefits follow after 45

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Product, applications, or wholesale distribution experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for up to 8 hours daily.
• Able to stoop, bend, and reach inventory; work in indoor and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Pull, fill, pack, and set up orders for delivery or pickup; track order status.
• Receive shipments, log into inventory, conduct audits, and process returns accurately.
• Assist counter and phone customers with orders, product info, pricing, and availability.
• Greet all customers professionally; resolve issues promptly or escalate as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized counter and product display area.
• Upsell complementary products and convert requests to stocked brands where appropriate.
• Maintain deep product and industry knowledge; follow company pricing and credit guidelines.
• Assess customer needs to determine appropriate service level or escalation path.
• Build customer relationships; adapt approach to different customer types and needs.
• Collaborate with team, share best practices, and support a positive work environment.
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and Employee Handbook requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
