Job summary

Behavioral Health Network (BHN) is seeking a Counselor for the Community Crisis Stabilization (CCS) team to advance our mission of empowering people to live healthier, more fulfilling lives. You will provide direct counseling, crisis stabilization, and aftercare planning, engaging in intakes, group sessions, and documentation across shifts.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, adherence to HEART values, and collaboration with local providers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • One year of experience in the Human Service field, preferably behavioral health.
  • Bilingual Spanish language skills preferred.
  • Highly motivated to work with the behavioral health population.

Responsibilities

  • Implement appropriate treatment/referral responses based on clinical assessment, using the least restrictive alternatives.
  • Identify and communicate the needs of individuals served, including mental status, social functioning, and level of risk, contributing to tools such as the IAP, comprehensive assessment, Safety Plan, and Arizona Matrix.
  • Interact with significant others and area providers to develop a comprehensive understanding of individuals' situations.
  • Complete clear, timely documentation including intake packets, collateral, DAP, progress notes, aftercare plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Facilitate activity and psycho-educational groups for individuals served each shift.
  • Provide staffing coverage according to minimum safety standards, including hourly safety checks.
  • Consult with and inform the supervisor regarding behavioral challenges, treatment, safety, and discharge planning.
  • Maintain the site in an orderly, clean, and safe manner, and complete administrative paperwork including EVs, MABHA updates, and program logs.

Who You Are:
