Job summary

Behavioral Health Network, Inc. seeks a Counselor-CIT to join its Adult Community Crisis Stabilization (A-CCS) team. You will implement treatment, assess needs, and coordinate with providers to support individuals in crisis.

Required are a high school diploma or GED; one year in human services; bilingual Spanish preferred; strong organizational and communication skills are essential to deliver timely documentation and care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling and support within a behavioral health setting.
  • Complete intake packets, progress notes, and aftercare plans clearly and timely.
  • Collaborate with team and providers to assess needs and risks.
  • Intervene with least-restrictive treatment and referrals as needed.
  • Conduct psycho-educational groups and participate in safety checks.

What You Will Do:
  • Implement appropriate treatment and referral responses using the least restrictive alternatives, based on clinical assessment.
  • Identify, assist, support, and communicate the needs of individuals served, including mental status, social functioning, and level of risk, contributing to tools such as the IAP, comprehensive assessment, Safety Plan, and Arizona Matrix.
  • Interact with significant others and area providers to develop a comprehensive understanding of individuals' current situations.
  • Complete necessary documentation clearly and in a timely manner, including intake packets, collateral, DAP and progress notes, aftercare plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Facilitate activity and/or psycho-educational groups for individuals served each shift.
  • Perform services necessary to meet program goals and support the daily needs and comfort of individuals.
  • Provide staffing according to minimum safety standards at all times, including hourly safety checks.
  • Consult with and inform supervisors regarding behavioral challenges, treatment, safety, and discharge planning.
Who You Are:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.
  • One year of experience in the human services field, preferably in a behavioral health setting, preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish language skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of and high motivation to work with the behavioral health population.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to relate and establish rapport with individuals, families, and collateral providers.
  • Ability to work as a team member and follow through on assigned tasks.
  • Good interviewing, observation, and documentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Range: $21.50-$24.00
